AB Capital is excited to announce its completion of the strategic acquisition of Ai Hotel Keikyu Kamata-ekimae (the “Hotel”) on 31st October 2024. This purchase marks another significant milestone for AB Capital, expanding its portfolio in Japan's key cities and reinforcing its commitment to the region's vibrant hospitality industry. The acquisition marks the 8th Japan hotels acquired by AB Capital, and represents the 4th investment under the newly established AB Capital Japan Hospitality Fund II.
Strategic Location and Accessibility
Located in Kamata area of Tokyo, the hotel offers 219 rooms with an average size of 13.3 sq.m. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Keikyu Kamata Station, which is just a 5-minute train ride to Haneda Airport, the 2nd busiest airport in Asia and the 5th busiest in the world by passenger volume in 2023 according to Airports Council International. The hotel is also in close proximity to Kamata Station, offering easy access to Tokyo CBD and other key areas in Tokyo and Yokohama.
Revitalizing the Property through Renovation and Brand Alignment
Built in 2008, the hotel is set to undergo rebranding to one of the largest hotel brands in Japan which manages over 800 hotels. This rebranding initiative aims to significantly uplift the hotel's revenue per available room (RevPAR) and enhance the overall guest experience. The hotel will be operated by Aoki Co. under a franchise agreement with the franchisor. The renovations will be completed within 4Q 2024 and the hotel will target to start operations by 1Q 2025.
